Can someone come over and just bar my door shut?

Whilst taking care of a few other tasks I swung by the Goodwill Outlet again. I need to stop that. It was an amazing day as you can see from some of these items. Sure, some of the Hot Wheels are in rough shape, but I’m not willing to pay real money for clean ones. I picked up a few newer ones but those aren’t as interesting.

The NBA game is probably worth a little bit, but the yoke and Harmony 700 remote are worth considerably more. I don’t know about the Roku as it seems like a pretty basic one but it should bring a couple of bucks. As crazy as this sounds I really wanted the yoke for the knobs on the throttle part; I have the 6-pot CH Throttle Quadrant but it didn’t come with the knobs for the mixture, just an odd mix of four throttle and two prop knobs.

And I got myself a new smart-ish watch; somehow I scratched the front of my Apple Watch so it has to go - I have a screen protector but hadn’t got around to putting it on - oops. In all seriousness I’ll give the watch to a friend’s daughter.

There were a few records as well, including a cool 3-disc Sinatra collection that’s in pretty good shape and a beat up disk full of Hawaiian music as well as a performance of Gershwin’s Rhapsody In Blue.

All this crap was only $20 and change. Not too bad if you consider that the sale of one item may pay for the whole lot. But I really need to stop going there. Really. Help...

It continually amazes me that you find anything worth buying at Goodwill. I bought a shirt, once. Never found anything else.

Likewise for me. I've never found anything of value, or even of moderate interest, in a thrift store. I'm maybe not trying hard enough.

Not just Goodwill, but the Goodwill Outlet , where the broken or unsaleable junk goes to be sold by the pound; I usually don’t even bother with their regular retail stores. Some days I cannot believe the good luck I have digging through that garbage, and why I keep getting drawn back in there.

Ah, that’s the key then. Good news for my wallet and free time, is there are none of those within 75 miles of me.
